EMF measurements are measurements of ambient (surrounding) electromagnetic fields that are performed using particular sensors or probes, such as EMF meters. These probes can be generally considered as antennas although with different characteristics. In fact probes should not perturb the electromagnetic field and must prevent coupling and reflection as much as possible in order to obtain precise results. EMF measurements are nowadays becoming important and widespread in different sectors to assess environmental and human exposure to non-ionizing radiation in many contexts. There are two main types of EMF measurements
Many in the Paranormal Field believe that apparitions can cause these electromagnetic fields to increase due to the belief that spirits are nothing but energy.
Trifield Meter
Meter measures all three types of electromagnetic field: AC magnetic field, AC electric field, and radio (including microwaves). The magnetic and electric detectors are 3-axis, making the meter easier to use than comparable 1-axis meter
This meter is for detecting differences in more then one specific field or waves then the EMF Detector. Many believe any differences in Radiowaves, Microwaves or any form of energy wave is manipulated by a spirit or apparition.
Tools of the Trade
Thermal imaging cameras pick up body heat, and they are normally used in cases where people are trapped where rescuers cannot find them.
Since the paranormal society believes that ghosts or anything paranormal uses and harnesses energy, that entity would give off a heat signature. This device would pick up the either extremely cold or hot signature that the normal eye cannot see.
The Ghost Box
A Ghost box is a device used to supposedly communicate with the dead. Ghost boxes are simple radios with a scanning function allowing them to search airwaves until they find a station to stop on. Woos disable the stopping bit and presto, instant ghost box. The newly made ghost box then permanently jumps though available frequencies, playing each one for a fraction of a second. The various sounds from snatches of transmission, static, white noise and interference are then interpreted, using some of the most extreme pareidolia and a big dose of imagination, as words and communication from spirits on the other side. The spirits are seemingly unable to just pick one frequency, stick to it, and speak clearly, but must instead speak on lots of different ones in quick succession in cryptic syntax.

It is an essential for ghost hunting cause this is something that allows you the opportunity to see things that the human eye can not pick up. Like a shoe flying across the room and hitting a wall in pitch dark. Or a mist going from grave stone to grave stone.
Infrared (IR) refers to electromagnetic radiation with longer wavelengths than those of visible light, extending from the nominal red edge of the visible spectrum at 700 nanometers (nm) to 1 mm. This range of wavelengths corresponds to a frequency range of approximately 430 THz down to 300 GHz.[1] Most of the thermal radiation emitted by objects near room temperature is infrared.
